Cat and mouse
Whew. I'm exhausted. I have more to say about education, including No Child Left Behind, standardized testing, the math curriculum, and the PTA, but I'm going to give that subject a rest for a while.
In the meantime -- look! Cute kitten picture! See, he's chasing the mouse ... well, it's not really the mouse, it's the cursor. But it's still funny.
No? Okay, cute kid story. When Ella was 3 years old, she snuck up behind Big A in the kitchen and poked him, hoping to startle him. He spun around, trying to look surprised, and said, "Oh! Where did you come from?"
"China!" she said.
Another cute kid story. When Bess was about 8 and Ella was 3, we were in the car, and the girls were teasing Big A, trying to get his attention by calling out all his nicknames: "Hey, Dad! Daddy-Boo! Big D! Mister Dad!"
I said, "Hey, no fair! You just call me 'Mom.' If Dad has all those nicknames, what am I?"
Without missing a beat, Bess said, "Chopped liver."
Apparently we are raising our children to be Borscht Belt comedians.
A massive triple whammy of cuteness! Excellent start to my weekend. Thanks!

Too cute! My cat is always trying to climb on the computer, but it is because the birdhouses are right outside that window... ~lmc
